Terms of Use

The terms that apply to reading this site and to using the free resources published on it.

Effective

Who these terms are with

This site is published by DEXPRA, based in Ontario, Canada. In these terms “we” and “DEXPRA” mean that practice, and “you” means anyone using dexpra.com.

By reading this site, requesting a resource, or writing to us through the contact form, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

DEXPRA publishes writing and free working materials about healthcare interoperability, data platforms, and applied AI. Everything here is general information for people who build and buy healthcare technology.

Reading this site does not create a professional, advisory, or client relationship with DEXPRA. An engagement begins only when both sides have signed a written agreement describing it.

Nothing here is legal, regulatory, clinical, medical, financial, or procurement advice. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your situation, your jurisdiction, and your patients.

Resources

The scorecards, checklists, templates, and question sets published on this site are offered at no charge, in exchange for the details on the request form.

Provided as they are

Every resource is supplied as it is, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise that a resource is accurate, current, complete, or suited to your organisation, your regulator, or your project. Standards move, regulations change, and a checklist that was right last year may be wrong today.

Not professional or clinical advice

No resource on this site is professional advice, and none of it is clinical or medical advice. A resource is a starting point for your own analysis, not a conclusion you can rely on. Decisions about patient care, safety, regulatory submissions, procurement, contracts, and architecture remain yours, and should be taken with your own qualified advisers and your own clinical governance.

No liability for decisions made using them

DEXPRA accepts no liability for any decision made, action taken, or outcome arising from the use of a resource published on this site. That includes any loss, cost, delay, regulatory finding, contractual consequence, or harm, however it arises. If you use a resource, you do so on your own judgement and at your own risk.

What you may do with them

You may use a resource inside your own organisation, adapt it for your own work, and share it with colleagues. Please do not resell it, republish it as your own, or strip the DEXPRA attribution from it.

Articles and updates

Articles are written as accurately as we can manage on the day they are published, and each one carries its date. We review older pieces periodically, but we do not promise that any article stays current. Check the standard, the specification, or the regulation itself before you act on what we wrote about it.

Where an article names a product, vendor, or standards body, that is description rather than endorsement, and no relationship is implied.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit a form using someone else’s details, or an address you do not control.
  • Send us personal health information or any patient data through this site.
  • Attempt to interfere with the site, its forms, or its hosting, including automated submission and attempts to defeat the bot check.
  • Scrape or bulk-download the site beyond ordinary reading.
  • Use anything published here in a way that breaks the law.

We may block access from any source that does one of these, without notice and without explanation.

Intellectual property

The articles, resources, diagrams, code samples, and design of this site belong to DEXPRA, except where something is credited to someone else. The DEXPRA name, wordmark, and logo are ours.

You may quote from an article with attribution and a link back. You may not republish a whole article, use our name or mark to suggest a relationship that does not exist, or use anything from this site to train a model without asking us first.

No warranty

This site and everything on it are provided as they are and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of anything harmful.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, DEXPRA is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or anticipated savings, arising from your use of this site or anything published on it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Privacy

What we collect through this site, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how to ask for access or correction are all set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one in force, and the effective date at the top says when it took effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

How to reach us

Questions about these terms go through the contact form.
